Congratulations to CCC student Gregory LeBelt who received a $2,500 scholarship from the North Carolina Space Grant program.
“This scholarship gave me some financial freedom to be able to focus more on my studies,” Greg says. “It also gave me the opportunity to take additional classes to enhance my knowledge in the career I plan on achieving and also enhance my résumé when I enter the workforce.”
He is working toward an Associate in General Education degree and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Mission Critical Operations, as well as a Mission Critical Operations – Information Technology Foundations Certificate and a Mission Critical Operations – Operations Technology Foundations Certificate. He expects to graduate in May 2017.
Greg is a member of CCC’s International Society of Automation (ISA) student chapter, the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
The NC Space Grant is a competitive scholarship, and is awarded based on academic merit to students majoring in science, technology, engineering or math disciplines.
Students receiving the NC Space Grant must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester during the scholarship award period.
