Charles “Chuck” Davis has joined the college as Auxiliary Services Associate. Davis received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Computer Information Technology from CCC. Prior to this position, Davis was an adjunct instructor and Help Desk associate in the Rose Library. Davis enjoys serving as assistant scout master for Boy Scout troop 114 in Polkville. He and his wife, Tabitha, have two children and reside in Lawndale.
Chelsea Edwards has been named Instructor, Anatomy and Physiology. Edwards is a member of the North Carolina Public Health Association and received a Master’s degree in Biology from Virginia State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Old Dominion University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Public Health in Epidemiology from Capella University. Edwards and her husband, Shawn, have one daughter and reside in Charlotte.
Colette Hill has joined the college as Discipline Coordinator, Medical Assisting. Hill has over 23 years of experience as a certified medical assistant and was also an adjunct instructor at Gaston College. She is a certified member of the American Association of Medical Assistants and the North Carolina Society of Medical Educators and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Gardner-Webb University and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting from Gaston College. Hill is also a member of Hope4Gaston a community outreach event that helps revitalization of communities. She is an active member of Mount Zion Restoration Church in Gastonia and was a member of 2012 Senegal, Africa medical mission trip. She and her husband, Larry, have two daughters and reside in Dallas, NC.
Karen Milling has been promoted to full-time Instructor, Nursing Assistant. Milling earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University where she was named Summa Cum Laude. She also earned a diploma in Nursing from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and served as an adjunct instructor at CCC before being promoted. Milling is a member of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nursing, the National League of Nurses, and the American Nurses Association. She and her husband, Kevin, have two children and are members of Element Church in Shelby where she teaches E-kids. Milling also enjoys volunteering at the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA, for Easter Seals, the National Fallen Firefighters Association, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Boiling Springs Fire and Rescue.
Ken Mooney has been named Vice President, Continuing Education. Mooney earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University and Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from UNC-Charlotte and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology from Surry Community College. Mooney was the former Manager of Existing Industry Relations for the Cleveland County Economic Development Partnership and the Chamber. He is extremely active in the community and serves as president of the Foothills Farmers’ Market and Vice Chairman of Charlotte Regional Partnership Existing Industry Committee. He also serves on the Cleveland Vocational Industries board and is a member of Cleveland County Communicators Toastmasters Club, and the Chamber’s Business-Education Alliance. He and his wife, Lauren, also enjoy supporting the Foothills Farmers’ Market by supporting the local real-food movement and peddling natural skincare products. They have two sons, Brian and Ben, and reside in Shelby.
Kristi Shackleford has been named Development Associate for the Foundation and Development office. Shackleford is from Greensboro and earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Interior Design from Randolph Community College. She also attended Gardner-Webb University. She is a member of Putnam Baptist Church and enjoys interior design, travelling, and spending time with her family. She has a daughter, Brianna, and resides in Shelby.
Lori Vincent has been promoted to full-time Instructor, Mathematics. Vincent earned a Master’s degree in Education from Monash University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Alfred University. She has been serving as an adjunct instructor at CCC for over six years. In addition to teaching, Vincent enjoys raising and showing Great Danes and Newfoundlands. She resides in Shelby.
