CCC Students Attend Southern Association of Educational Opportunity Conference

(Shelby, NC) – Four students from CCC recently represented the College at the Southern Association of Educational Opportunity Conference held at the Atlanta Metropolitan College in Atlanta, Georgia. All of the students are part of the TRiO-Student Support Services program at CCC which offers academic development opportunities to first-generation college students, students who have a financial need, or a documented disability.

During the conference, students Sungata Elliot, Nyrisha Manning, Shaun Morris, and Charlotte Russ competed in the McNair Debate Competition against students from Mississippi Valley State, the University of SC Upstate and Berea College. TRiO Director, Annette Toms, travelled with the team and served as their advisor for the event.
