CCC C19TV Broadcasting Live for 2012 Election Night

(Shelby, NC) – Students in Broadcasting and Production classes at Cleveland Community College will make history on Tuesday, November 6, as the College’s television channel which broadcast on Time Warner Cable channel 19 will offer live coverage of the 2012 election. This is the first time C19TV has offered a live broadcast during election coverage and students will work behind-the-scenes as hosts of C19TV’s most popular show, Political Smackdown, offer analysis of election night results. C19TV will begin airing at 7:30 pm and will broadcast live every 15 minutes until all election results are in.

CCC Discipline Coordinator Broadcasting, Gregg Tillman, says “This will be a great opportunity and experience for our students to use what they are learning in the studio and classroom during a live show which is covering such a historical election. We are excited to provide them with this opportunity. Running a live show also means they will also get experience in solving problems quickly if things don’t run smoothly. That is always a condition when you go live with a show.”

The Political Smackdown team includes: Dennis Davis, Andy Dedmon, Mike Philbeck, and Dean Westmoreland. For a complete schedule of C19TV visit and click on C19TV. The views expressed during Political Smackdown do not reflect those of Cleveland Community College, C19TV, Time Warner Cable, The Cleveland County Democratic Party, or The Republican Party of Cleveland County.
