(Shelby, NC) – Six students from the Cleveland Community College Basic Law Enforcement program were recently honored for their achievements during a special graduation program held in the Mildred H. Keeter Auditorium on the CCC campus.

CCC Coordinator Basic Law Enforcement, Aaron Vassey, gave an overview of the BLET program and BLET student Paul Creaman served as speaker for the ceremony. Vassey also gave the final roll call for the class and presented the graduates.

The graduating class also had a 100% passing rate on their first attempt on the State law enforcement exam. Each of the graduates is now eligible to be sworn as a law enforcement officer through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and/or the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Commission once they are hired by a law enforcement agency.

  1. These students have a lot to be proud of. First, the 100% pass rate is the most difficult task to reach on the BLET State exam, which is one of the hardest State administered exams of all State mandated certification exams. Second, they worked daily as a team all the while keeping the goal of passing each end-of-block test and physical test so that they could eventually be administered the BLET State exam. Lastly, they all have high a standard of moral and ethical character, all of which will help them fulfill their goal of becoming a law enforcement officer. I am proud of you all and wish you the best of luck in your quest for employment. You all have been given the tools necessary to apply for the position of your choice so now it is up to you to apply your skills and knowledge to the prospective employers in hopes of convincing the empployer to hire you, the respective student. Thank you all for being such a great class and once again, congratulations on the 100% pass rate. You stand above the crowd with such high numbers. I am always here if you need anything. Respectfully, Law Enforcement Training Coordinator Aaron Vassey
